Deep water culture (DWC)
Roots hanging in a deep, aerated reservoir. One air pump is all that separates it from Kratky — more dissolved oxygen, faster growth, support for bigger crops, and exactly one new failure mode.
The gentlest introduction to powered systems: if the pump dies, a DWC bucket degrades into a rough Kratky rather than a dead crop, which makes it the most resilient Tier 2 choice.
